⚠️ SafetyStrong Pacific waves and dangerous rip currents ('ries') make many Basco-area beaches unsuitable for swimming. Valugan and Chadpidan Boulder Beaches have wild, raging waves — not safe for swimming. No lifeguards on any beaches. A tourist has drowned from undercurrents. Only calmer areas near Chanarian and Diura are suitable for swimming. Sturdy footwear recommended for boulder beaches. Typhoon season (June-Nov) brings rough seas and flight cancellations.
